Auction Process
- How does the auction process work?Top
- Kypaa is an exciting new online auction website where you get the chance to win premium products for free! Simply place a bid on
any auction throughout the website. At the end of the auction, the person with the Highest Unique Bid is declared
the winner!
This is best illustrated with the following example auction:
MP3 Player valued at $300.00
At the end of the auction, the top ten bids were as follows:
Bid 1: 10.00
Bid 2: 10.00
Bid 3: 9.00

. - What is the difference between a normal auction and a timed auction? Top
- Normal Auction
- A normal auction has no closing date, It will end when it reaches the required number of bids.
- Points required to place a bid on normal auctions will generally be lower than timed auctions.
Timed Auction- A timed auction has a set closing date, It will end regardless of how many bids have been placed.
- Points required to place a bid on timed auctions will generally be higher than normal auctions.
- The current Highest Unique Bid will be visible for everyone to see, up until 1 day before the closing date.

- A bid is unique when no one else has placed a bid for the same amount for that auction.
- How is a winner determined?Top
- When an auction ends, a Preliminary Winner is automatically chosen by the system to be the leading contender to
winning the auction. When the results have been verified by an admin to be free from cheating, the
Preliminary Winner will be upgraded to be a Verified Winner and is awarded the auction.
If the Preliminary Winner has been found to be cheating, all their bids will be disqualified and the process is repeated until a Verified Winner is found.
All decisions are final and no correspondence will be entered into. - When does an auction end?Top
- A normal auction ends when the Percent Completed indicator reaches 100%. The more bids placed on the auction,
the higher the Percent Completed indicator will increase.
A timed auction ends when the Closes on date has elapsed. The timer underneath the products picture will indicate how long an auction has left to go.
- What happens when there are no Highest Unique Bid?Top
- If there are no valid Highest Unique Bid then the auction will be awarded to the bidder that first submitted a bid
on the Highest Unique Pair of Bids.
For example:

. - How do I know if I've won an auction?Top
- The successful bidder will receive an email notifying them that they've won the auction. If the successful bidder does not respond within 10 business days, the product will be offered to the bidder with the next Highest Unique Bid for that particular auction.
- I won an auction, how do I claim my prize?Top
- You will need to finalise the auction by confirming your delivery address. You can do this by clicking on the Members menu at the top and then the Auctions Won sub menu.
- I won an auction, how do I pay for the product?Top
- You don't need to pay any money, you've won the product for free! And if you live in Australia, you don't even have to pay for shipping. Click here for more details on shipping.
Auction Integrity
- What constitutes cheating?Top
- Cheating is defined as but not limited to using bots, scripts, software or human interaction to gain points through deception
or to gain an unfair advantage through deception. Some examples of cheating are:
- Referring fake friends
- Constantly viewing the same set of auctions or products hours on end
- Creating multiple accounts
- What is the penalty for cheating?Top
- We reserve the right to ban any user who has been caught cheating and cancel any or all their bids.
- How do I know Kypaa won't place dummy bids?Top
- We will never place dummy bids to alter the outcome of an auction. Our aim is to provide a free, fair and trustworthy auction website where members can be confident in it's integrity. We recognise that without repeat business and word of mouth from our members the business will fail.
Bids
- How do I place a bid?Top
- Find an auction you are interested in, enter your desired bid amount and click on the Place Bid button. Please note that you will need to login before you can place a bid.
- How much does it cost to place a bid?Top
- It doesn't cost any money to bid, points are used instead to place bids. There are numerous ways to earn points, the simplest and easiest way is to browse the auctions or product reviews throughout the website. Click here to find out more ways to earn points.
- How do I know if my bid was accepted?Top
- A message will be displayed confirming that the bid was successful.
- Can I cancel or change my bid after it has been accepted?Top
- All accepted bids are final and can not be cancelled or altered.
- Can I bid more than once on an auction?Top
- Yes. You can place multiple bids on an auction, As long as you have sufficient points to place the bids.
Product and Shipping
- Are the items new or used?Top
- All items on auction are brand new and include the manufacturer's warranty.
- How many items are available in each auction?Top
- Unless otherwise stated, each auction is for one unit.
- What are the shipping & delivery costs?Top
- Shipping and delivery is free to any address within Australia.
- What if I live overseas?Top
- Since shipping and delivery costs are calculated by the weight of the product and the delivery address, it is difficult to give a definitive answer. Kypaa will review each auction case by case and should the costs be reasonable, Kypaa will provide free shipping and delivery.
- How long does the delivery take?Top
- Once the delivery address has been finalised, we will ship the product within 5 business days. Once shipped, it can take up to 5 to 10 business days to be delivered depending on the destination country.
Points
- What are points?Top
- Points are a virtual currency that members can earn, which are used to place bids on auctions.
- How do I get points?Top
- Points can be earned in a number of different ways, the simplest and easiest way is to browse the
auctions or product reviews
throughout the website. Below is the full list of ways you can earn points:
- Complete surveys ~ 5 to 200 points
- Register as a member ~ 25 points
- Refer a friend ~ 10 points

50 points for a great review
20 points for a good review
7 points for a decent review

- Can I purchase points?Top
- No, points can not be purchased using real money.
- Can I transfer my points to another member?Top
- No, points can not be transferred to another member's account.
- How can I earn up to 200 points?Top
- You can earn points by simply completing online surveys. The amount of points awarded is dependent on which survey you
complete. The more surveys you complete, the more points you will receive!
Note:Points are only awarded once the survey is completed in its entirety.
- How do I complete a survey?Top
- Simply login and click on any of the following points banner throughout the website:
Note:Surveys will only appear if there are active surveys for your country.
- I've just completed a survey but I haven't received my pointsTop
- In order to receive the points, You must complete the survey in its entirety.
- In the case of a questionnaire, You will need to complete the survey to the very end.
- In the case of a download, You will need to click on the link to download the software.
Note:If you've completed a survey and you haven't received your points, please fill out the Contact Us form and we will investigate it.
- Why can't I see any surveys?Top
- Surveys will only appear if there are active surveys for your country.
Product Review Guidelines
- Why hasn't my review been published?Top
- Make sure the review meets our posting guidelines:
- Product reviews must be in english and must not be plagiarised from an existing website
- Reviews must be informative and contain more than simple comments (eg "This is awesome!", "Very stylish", "I love this, it is really cool!" etc)
- The review must relate to the product being reviewed
- Reviews must not contain personal attacks, profanity or defamatory comments
